Woman Killed In Redford Crash On I-96: Police
A woman was killed Wednesday morning after her car stalled on the freeway and was rear ended by an SUV.
REDFORD, MI — A woman was killed Wednesday morning in a crash on eastbound Interstate 96 near Telegraph Road in Redford after her car stalled stalled on the freeway and was rear-ended by an SUV, police said.
Officials said the woman, in her 20s, was driving a Hyundai when it stalled at 2:25 a.m. near the right shoulder due to mechanical issues.
A BMW SUV then crashed into the back of the car, causing the SUV to roll over onto its roof and pinning the Hyundai to the right retaining wall, officials said.

The driver of the SUV and a passenger in the Hyundai were not injured in the crash, officials said.
Police don’t believe alcohol or narcotics were factors in the crash, as the investigation continues.

All eastbound lanes on Interstate 96 have reopened after police closed them for nearly five hours during their initial investigation.
