Lung cancer support group in Farmington Hills

Being diagnosed with lung cancer is a tough time for many people. Your friends and family offer great support, but you may find it hard to reach out. Connect with others who know what it is to have lung cancer. Talking in person with patients and their families can be the best way to connect. Some feel most comfortable in a group with other survivors, because of the stigma of lung cancer. That’s why 2014 Hour Detroit Top Doc David Sternberg, M.D., a minimally invasive thoracic surgeon and member of Botsford Cancer Center’s lung cancer team, leads an informal support group for lung cancer patients. Come to the next meeting: 6-7:30 p.m., Monday, Nov. 17. The group meets monthly on the third Monday. Open to anyone living with lung cancer and their loved ones; you don’t have to be a Botsford patient to attend. Each meeting features a guest speaker. Cost: FREE.
