Man Dies In Oakland County Crash: Sheriff

LYON TOWNSHIP, MI — A Whitmore Lake man died Monday morning after driving his SUV off the road and striking a tree in Lyon Township, the Oakland County Sheriff's Office said.

Officials said Seth Lowry, 35, was driving a 2022 Kia Niro westbound on Pontiac Trail near Willow Lane when he drifted off the right side of the road and hit a tree at 4:45 a.m.

Officials found Lowry dead in the car and determined he was not wearing his seatbelt. He was also the only person in the car, officials said.

Police believe drugs and alcohol played a factor in the crash, which officials were still investigating.
