Missing Oakland County Woman Found Dead: Sheriff

Officials do not believe there was any foul play, but said they were still investigating the case.

INDENPENDENCE TOWNSHIP, MI — Officials on Monday afternoon found the body of an Oakland County woman who was missing over the weekend, according to the Oakland County Sheriff's Office.

Lacie Nicole Santia, 38, of Independence Township, was found dead Monday afternoon in Waterford Oaks County Park in Waterford, according to the sheriff's office.

Officials do not believe there was any foul play, but said they were still investigating the case.

Santia was first reported missing Saturday morning by her family who told officials they were concerned about her emotional condition, according to the sheriff's office.

Officials found Santia’s unoccupied vehicle with the keys still in the ignition later Saturday in the parking lot of the county park.

The Sheriff’s Office Drone Unit, search and rescue team, K-9 unit, aviation unit as well as the Waterford Township police, U.S. Border Patrol, and Metroparks Police Search and Rescue Team all participated in the search over the weekend.
