Nature Center Offers Classes for Home-Schooled Students

Beginning in January, a naturalist at the Farmington Hills Nature Center will lead help parents of home-schooled students enrich the youngster’s knowledge and connection with the natural world.

The sessions promise to be hands-on, memorable experiences outdoors, while exploring a different nature theme each week. It’s a great way to get outside, meet other homeschool families and supplement your at-home lessons, the city of Farmington Hills said in a news release.

Homeschool Nature Programs meet from 1-2:30 p.m. every Tuesday, Jan. 6-March 3 at the Nature Center. There will be no class on Feb 17.

The program is designed as a drop-off class, so parents who decide to stay are encouraged to network and socialize with other homeschool families in the Nature Center.

The class is available for children ages 6 to 12. Students will be split into two age groups depending on the number of participants. Please dress for the weather and exploring outdoors.
