Oakland Co. Student Arrested After Police Say He Brought A Loaded Gun To School: Reports

SOUTHFIELD, MI — A Southfield high school student was arrested Wednesday morning after police said he brought a loaded gun to school, multiple reports said.

Police said officers arrested the 16-year-old boy after they found him with the loaded gun in the hallway at Southfield A&T High School, reports said.

Officers said the gun was loaded but there was no bullet in the chamber, according to reports.

Officials located the student after someone told them the student may have brought a gun to school, according to reports.

Police do not believe the student made any threats toward other students or staff, and do not know why the student brought the gun to school.

Officials will submit the case to the Oakland County Prosecutor’s Office for review.
