Oakland County HS Student Caught With Handgun In Bathroom: Police
The 15-year-old student is facing multiple felony charges in connection with the incident.
SOUTHFIELD, MI — A 15-year-old student was arrested Monday after bringing a handgun to an Oakland County high school, according to police.
The incident happened at the Southfield High School for the Arts and Technology, according to police.
School officers found the student in the bathroom with the handgun in his waistband after receiving a tip from security staff, according to police.

After a brief struggle, officers took the gun from the student, according to police.
Police said no shots were fired and did not report any injuries in the incident.

The 15-year-old was charged with carrying a concealed weapon, resisting and obstructing and possession of a weapon in a weapons-free school zone.
Police are expected to release more information about the incident Tuesday afternoon.
The incident comes just days after three South Lyon East High School students were charged in connection with threats to shoot up the high school.
