Pregnant Woman Dies, Baby Hurt In Oakland County Hit-And-Run: Report

Police initially arrested a driver who ran away on foot, but was later released by investigators, a report said.

SOUTHFIELD, MI β€” A pregnant woman died Monday morning after police she was struck by a vehicle in a Southfield apartment parking lot Saturday, according to reports.

Police were able to save the child, who was listed in stable condition, reports said, citing Southfield Police.

A driver struck the woman in the parking lot at the Country Court Apartments on Greenfield Road near Interstate 696 around 3 p.m. on Saturday afternoon, reports said.

A driver was initially arrested by police in connection to the accident, but was later released by investigators, according to a report from WDIV.
