Farmington, MI (November 15, 2019) – Sara Bowman, who was reelected to Farmington City Council in the Nov. 5 election, was voted in as Farmington’s Mayor at last night’s City Council meeting. Joe LaRussa was voted Mayor Pro Tem.

According to the Farmington City Charter, City Council, at its first meeting following the city election, elects one of its members to serve as Mayor and one as Mayor Pro Tem.
Past Mayor Steven Schneemann nominated both Bowman and LaRussa for their new posts. City Council unanimously agreed with the nomination.

Bowman served on the Planning Commission from 2008 – 2015 and was first elected to council in 2015. She is also the founder of Farmington’s Thanksgiving Day Turkey Trot.
LaRussa was first elected to City Council in 2017 and has served on the Farmington Master Plan Committee.
