Trader Joe’s Opening New Metro Detroit Location

FARMINGTON HILLS, MI — Trader Joe’s will open a new Oakland County store sometime this year.

The new store will be located at 27658 Middlebelt Road in Farmington Hills.

Details about the new store were limited outside its new location.

"At Trader Joe's in Farmington Hills, we see ourselves as your neighborhood grocery store. Step inside and you'll find unconventional and interesting products in the Trader Joe's label like Mandarin Orange Chicken and Cold Brew Coffee Concentrate, as well as everyday basics like milk, eggs, meat, bakery items, and fresh produce," a statement reads on the grocer's website.

Trader Joe’s is a popular grocery chain known for its selection of affordable private-label products, unique snacks, frozen meals, wines, and everyday staples.

The new Farmington Hills spot is one of eight locations Trader Joe's is planning to open this year. The flourishing chain said last month it planned to open at least 18 more stores across 12 states this year.

There are 631 Trader Joe’s stores in the U.S. as of earlier this month, nine of which are in Michigan, according to the data company ScrapeHero.
