Artist Michael Mullen introduces relief prints

Michael Mullen of Grosse Ile is a fine artist specializing in relief prints. His work is created using his refurbished 1891 Chandler & Price letterpress.
Michael Mullen will unveil his Tuned to Tradition collection, a series of limited edition relief prints celebrating traditional music at Gallery on the Boulevard. Prints represent four musical instruments: guitar, banjo, fiddle and mandolin. Each print is individually created on an 1891 letterpress, numbered and signed. A limited quantity of 100 of each print has been created.

Each print will be unveiled with the help of a complementing poem by Dr. Jeff London of Farmington Hills and musical performance by the subject instrument.

The evening will aslo include a performance by the Pairadocs Trio with bassist Kim Dominick: Drs. Tom Ditkoff and Jeff London, along with artist Michael Mullen, are the Pairadocs Trio. Grounded firmly in the folk music of the 1960’s, the group covers songs from the likes of Peter, Paul & Mary, Bob Dylan and Gordon Lightfoot. Original tunes by Jeff London are also part of the mix. They are known for tight harmonies and acoustic arrangements with guitars, bass and mountain dulcimer.
