Two Farmington Hills Police Officers Earn Promotions

Douglas Muller and John Haupt have been promoted to the ranks of sergeant and lieutenant, respectively.

The Farmington Hills Police Department recently promoted two officers, according to a news release. Officer Douglas Muller was promoted to the rank of sergeant and Ion Haupt was promoted to the rank of lieutenant from sergeant.

Muller has served in the Patrol Division and Traffic Section as an officer since 1995. Heeceived several awards as an officer, including a Life Saving award in 2001. He has an associate’s degree in criminal justice from Washtenaw Community College.

Muller will be assigned to the Patrol Division where he will serve as a patrol shift supervisor.

Haupt was hired as a police officer in 1994 and was promoted to sergeant in 2006. He has served in the Patrol Division and Investigative Division. He has an associate’s degree from Schoolcraft College, a bachelor of science degree from Eastern Michigan University, and a master of science degree in technology studies from Eastern Michigan University. Haupt is also a 2011 graduate of the Center for Regional and National Security’s School of Police Staff and Command.

He will also be assigned to the Patrol Division.
