Updated Forecast: Halloween Trick-or-Treating in Farmington Area

They’d better be if you plan to canvas the neighborhood in the annual trick-or-treating ritual. Weather.com says Halloween weather will be mostly unpleasant, with a 60 percent chance of rain in the afternoon, increasing to 100 percent in the evening hours.

Daytime highs will be around 54, dipping to 49 overnight, with winds around 11 mph.

Make that boo a brrr.

Neither Farmington nor Farmington Hills officially designate trick-or-treat hours.

However, officers with the Farmington Public Safety Department will be handing out glow necklaces and potato chips to young trick-or-treaters under a program started 21 years ago to establish strong relationships between police officers and children.

Officers will start handing out the goodies at 6 p.m. on Halloween night, according to Hometownlife.com.

The Farmington Public Safety Department will have extra patrols on duty.
