Walk for Miracles Raises $100,000

Funds Support Programs of Beaumont Children's, A Children's Miracle Network Hostpital

Superheroes of all ages were invited to Beaumont Children’s β€œWalk for Miracles” at the Detroit Zoo, Saturday, June 16. More than 2300 participants participated in the Walk, many of them dressed in their favorite superhero costume or in shirts representing their teams. The efforts helped to raise over $100,000 for Beaumont Children’s, a Children’s Miracle Network Hospital.

Beaumont team members engaged groups of walkers that raised funds. The top fundraising teams we want to recognize for their efforts are:

  • Royal Oak Beaumont Neonatal Intensive Care Unit β€œWee Wonders” team, captained by Audrey Kalasky, raised $6,495 with 170 walkers.
  • The Farmington Hills β€œHappy Feet” team, captained by Kimberly Guesman, raised $5,678 with 29 walkers.
  • The Troy β€œKIDS KREW” team, captained by Diane Moskal, raised $3,585 with 34 walkers.
  • The Royal Oak β€œParenting Program Super Babies” team captained by Kelly Ryan raised $3,489 with 23 walkers.
  • The β€œONE HR” team, captained by Ronni Geary, raised $2,675 with 36 walkers.
  • The Pediatric Rehabilitation team β€œPediatric Peddlers”, captained by Deborah Adsit, raised $2,533 with 23 walkers.

At the walk children met Super Beau, the Beaumont Children’s mascot bear, and other popular fairy tale and comic book heroes. Each child received a super hero cape that they were able to decorate. Families were then able to enjoy the animals at the zoo for the day.
