Woman Reports Possible Sexual Assault Attempt

Farmington Hills police seek public's help in identifying suspect who knocked woman to the ground, then fled after she fought back.

Farmington Hills police on Tuesday released a sketch of a suspect they believe may have intended to sexually assault a woman as she walked in the area of Shiawassee and Hamilton Road about 1 a.m. Sunday.

The suspect knocked the woman to the ground, then fled when she resisted, police said in a news release.

The woman didn’t immediately report the attempted assault to police.

The Michigan State Police assisted with the investigation Tuesday by providing a forensic artist who made a sketch of the suspect based on the woman’s description.

He is described as a white male in his late 30s, approximately 6 feet, 2 inches tall and 170 pounds with a skinny build. He had an orange-colored beard and was wearing black pants (possibly Dickies brand), a dark-colored coat and a dark shirt beneath it, and tan work boots. He also has a chipped or missing front tooth.

Police said there have been no similar reports in Farmington Hills or in surrounding communities.
