Downtown Fenton Streetscape Update - July 24

Stay in the know about the Fenton Streetscape 2015 at FentonMomentum.com

FENTON MI_ Next week, concrete sidewalk will continue to be poured on LeRoy and Mill Street. Ellen Street will be closed during construction hours next week between LeRoy and Walnut Street as they will be installing sewer and water main and then installing sidewalk. The bricklayers will be onsite laying brick in the Downtown early next week. Paving is planned for August 3rd for Mill Street and Ellen Street. Traffic patterns in the district will continue until approximately August 10th.

Beginning August 10th, the project will shift north on LeRoy Street from Ellen Street to Caroline. Work will be completed only in that area and traffic will be closed on LeRoy between Ellen and Caroline until approximately September 3, 2015. However, the road surface on LeRoy will be milled from Ellen to Silver Lake Road on August 10th. Northbound and southbound traffic will continue on LeRoy between Silver Lake Road and Caroline. Caroline Street will remain open for travel. Once the bricklayers have completed their work in the current construction zone, two way traffic will resume on LeRoy between Elizabeth and Ellen Street and Shiawassee Avenue between Adelaide and LeRoy. Attached is a map showing this traffic pattern.

After the work is completed on LeRoy between Ellen and Caroline, the project will shift north on LeRoy between Caroline and Silver Lake Road. LeRoy Street in that area will be closed during that construction period. Once that is completed, work will continue on LeRoy Street between Silver Lake Road and Second Street. Champagne-Marx will then work on Caroline Street and River Street in the fall. As the project continues more detailed information will be provided.

For the upcoming LeRoy Street closures, access will be available to the Municipal Parking Lots on Caroline Street for the parking lot next to the Fenton Community and Cultural Center. There will also be access to the municipal parking lots near the Cornerstone Building on Walnut Street.

As always, please be safe and mindful of your surroundings in the construction zone. If you have questions please free to email streetscape2015@cityoffenton.org.
