Allegedly Tired Ferndale Burglar Takes a Snooze in Wrong House
A Rochester man was released on bond, but the judge required him to say away from drugs and booze.

FERNDALE, MI — A Rochester man police say was “drunk and lost” when he allegedly broke into a Ferndale woman’s home and took a nap is free on bond, but the judge set some strict conditions for his release: He has to abstain from alcohol and drugs, and must also submit to random drug and alcohol testing, The Daily Tribune reported.
Patrick D. Bradwell, 32, was arraigned Tuesday in Ferndale 43rd District Court, where he was formally charged with illegal entry and possession of marijuana.
The owner of the home, located on the 200 block of Albany, came home around 8 p.m. Monday to find her front door open and “a sandwich and a pack of Camel cigarettes on the dining table that didn’t belong to her,” Ferndale Police Lt. William Wilson told the newspaper.

She investigated further and found Bradwell sitting on her front porch, Wilson said. When police responded, he was still there.
Wilson said Bradwell admitted to having been in the house and taking a short nap. He apparently thought he was at a friend’s house.
