Dino's Voted Best Place for Breakfast in Ferndale

It's the most important meal of the day – and there's no shortage of places to find it in Ferndale.

In our quest to rate the best of the best in Ferndale, we asked Patch readers this week to vote for the best place for breakfast in Ferndale.

More than 220 readers voted in our poll, and many contributed reviews for their top choices.

Dino's Lounge came out on top with 30 percent of the votes, and Toast came in a close second with 26 percent of votes.

Jonathan Jonah, aka "JJ," is the kitchen manager at Dino's. He said the restaurant started offering breakfast three years ago on Saturdays and Sundays and it's now offered seven days a week from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. (brunch only on Sundays).

"Everybody's been coming in and wanting it," he said, pointing out the variety of specialty breakfast choices that are unique to Dino's. "I think it has to do with the fresh food and the kind of food that we're serving."

Popular items include the frittatas (open-faced omelets) like the Mediterranean Egg White frittata and Buffalo Chicken frittata. Pancakes and "huge" Belgium waffles are also offered, along with a variety of popular breakfast sandwiches like the "Montecristo Gigantico" stuffed with ham, turkey, bacon, hashed browns and Swiss cheese and dusted with powdered sugar and served with maple syrup.

Also high on the list was The Fly Trap with 15 percent of votes.
