Ferndale Students on Channel 7's 'Brightest and Best' List
WXYZ-TV's 33-year tradition of honoring Metro Detroit's top high school students continues with two from Ferndale schools.
Channel 7, WXYZ recently honored the 256 recipients of this year's "Brightest and Best" award with a special luncheon at the station in Southfield. Among the winners for 2012, the 33rd year of the program, were two from Ferndale Public Schools.
The station teamed up with Gardner-White Furniture this year to present the Brightest and Best Essay Contest. One lucky student that submits a 500-word essay on how to move Michigan forward by retaining college graduates to work and live in Michigan will receive a $5,000 scholarship.
