The Ferndale Golden Eagles Marching Band wants to win a $50,000 grant from Pepsi, but needs your help.

The Ferndale High School marching band is in the running for a Pepsi Refresh Grant.

The Pepsi Refresh Project is a system of grants awarded to individuals who have ideas to better his or her community.

The marching Golden Eagles have applied for a $50,000 grant. The band hopes to use this money to help with student fees, which are currently a minimum of $425 per student, with additional fundraising. The total student contribution per year is about $625 per student, said marching band director Elon Jamison. The grant will, in turn, yield a higher student membership to the band, he said. The money will also go toward raising salaries for marching band staff and purchasing equipment.
