• Black bear spotted in Mt. Pleasant, swiftly tranqualized (themorningsun.com) — A recent black bear sighting in Mt. Pleasant comes just weeks after a bear was spotted in Flat Rock, highlighting how these animals are appearing farther south in Michigan. Officials say the bear in Mt. Pleasant was safely tranquilized, and they’re urging residents statewide to avoid approaching bears, keep pets indoors, and give wildlife plenty of space if another sighting occurs.
