Genesee County pitch contest awards $15K to small businesses (abc12.com) — Six Genesee County entrepreneurs just split $15,000 in prizes at the Two-Lane Fast Pitch competition held at the Flint Farmers' Market, backed by the Flint & Genesee Economic Alliance and partners. Flint restaurant 8-1-0 Tings won $10,000 toward a food truck, while mobile bartending startup Sips and Vibes earned $5,000, with organizers planning to repeat the contest next year.
   

5. Flint restaurant owner to be freed from ICE custody after $5,000 bond posted (abc12.com) — A Flint restaurant co-owner detained by ICE will soon be released after supporters post a $5,000 bond, clearing the way for him to resume work. His detention forced Kabuki Japanese Restaurant on Corunna Road to close and left several employees without jobs, but the team now hopes to reopen while his immigration case continues in court.
