Flint, MI Announces Record Recycling Rate (wasteadvantagemag.com) — Flint residents are recycling more than ever, with the city announcing a record-high annual recycling rate based on new data from local and state environmental agencies. Mayor Sheldon Neeley highlighted how proper recycling in Flint conserves resources and supports jobs while contributing to Michigan's broader push to boost recycling statewide.
   

2. Mission 27 takes off for Mid-Michigan Honor Flight (abc12.com) — Veterans from across Mid-Michigan are flying out of Flint's Bishop International Airport for a free two-day Honor Flight to Washington, D.C., with a big welcome-home celebration planned when they return Wednesday night. The nonprofit is prioritizing World War II, Korean War, Vietnam, and terminally ill veterans, and says demand is so strong that some now face a three-year wait for future missions.
   

3. Flint mayor will travel to Washington to push for water crisis settlement payments (mlive.com) — Flint residents waiting on water crisis settlement money may soon see renewed pressure from City Hall, as Mayor Sheldon Neeley heads to Washington, D.C., to push for faster payments. He'll meet with the Special Master and federal officials, aiming to speed compensation and secure continued investment while highlighting the city's completed pipe replacements and improved water quality.
   

4. Flint City Council approves resolutions to maintain vehicles... (flintbeat.com) — Flint's City Council just approved several measures to support the city's vehicle fleet and fire services, including joining a statewide mutual aid network for large emergencies. Members also accepted a $4,000 donation from a Kettering University fraternity for the Fire Department and signaled a coming committee discussion on Flock cameras in Flint.
   

5. Flint center to expand services before Consumers Energy payment office closes (abc12.com) — Flint residents who pay utility and tax bills in person will soon have a new option, as the North Flint City Services Center adds Consumers Energy electric bill payments ahead of the company's Court Street office closure. The Clio Road drive-through already handles city water, income tax, and property tax payments, with extended weekday and Saturday hours for added convenience.
