1. Flint honors Rev. Dr. H.B. Dixson with honorary street renaming ceremony (theflintcouriernews.com) — West Weatherby Street in Flint has been honorarily renamed to honor the late Rev. Dr. H.B. Dixson, longtime pastor of Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church. City leaders, family, and church members shared stories of his decades of ministry, youth outreach, and neighborhood improvement before unveiling the new street sign outside the church.

Joggers find man stabbed to death in Flint (mlive.com) — A man was found fatally stabbed near Sunset Village off Sheffield Avenue in Flint, and state police along with the Flint Major Case Unit are investigating. No suspects are in custody yet, and authorities are urging anyone with information to contact a named detective or Crime Stoppers anonymously.
   

3. Vote for the Flint-area Athlete of the Week for Sept. 21-27 (mlive.com) — Fans around Flint can vote online this week for the Flint-area Fall Athlete of the Week, recognizing standout performances from Sept. 21-27 across football, swimming, and volleyball. The poll stays open until Friday morning, and coaches can still nominate more local high school athletes through Sept. 30.
   

4. Michigan gas prices drop 24 cents after last week's price surge eases, AAA says (cbsnews.com) — Gas prices across Michigan have dipped 24 cents since last week's spike, and Flint currently has some of the lowest prices in the state at about $4.59 per gallon. AAA and analysts say a recently restarted refinery is easing costs, though prices remain much higher than last year and could still fluctuate.
   

5. Community members remembering the LDS attack one year later (abc12.com) — After a deadly attack one year ago, a Grand Blanc Township Latter-day Saints congregation that has been worshiping at a Flint church is now breaking ground on a new, larger building at the original site. Church members, local leaders, and first responders describe the ceremony as a symbol of resilience and healing, emphasizing how community support has helped them rebuild emotionally as well as physically.
