• Daily News seeks nominations for 2026 Citizen of the Year (ourmidland.com) — Residents of Freeland are invited to nominate neighbors whose volunteer work has made a real difference in the community for the Midland Daily News 2026 Citizen of the Year award. Nominations, which should detail specific acts of service and impact, are due by 5 p.m. Friday, Nov. 20, and can be submitted online, by email, or by mail.
• Saginaw-area football recap, with Week 5 Friday Night Hero (mlive.com) — Freeland football fans can see exactly where their team stands after a tough 42-7 loss to Frankenmuth and a 1-2 conference, 1-4 overall record in the Tri-Valley Conference Red. The roundup lists last week's scores, this Friday's matchup hosting Alma, and updated league standings for Freeland and neighboring programs across the Saginaw area.
