Get paid for cones that will become trees in a Michigan national forest (mlive.com) — Starting Oct. 7, residents near Gladstone can earn money collecting jack and red pine cones for Hiawatha National Forest’s reforestation program, with payments up to $110 per bushel. Cones are accepted through Nov. 25 at district offices in Munising, Rapid River, and St. Ignace by appointment. This is a chance to support local forests while making extra cash.
