She initially set the ticket aside because she’d never played before, only discovering the life-changing prize after a family member scratched it and a store clerk confirmed the win.
   

4. Grand Blanc man pleads guilty to trying to meet 8-year-old for sex: 'Thank you for catching me' (fox2detroit.com) — A 38-year-old Grand Blanc man has been sentenced to 12 years in federal prison after pleading guilty to attempting to arrange sex with what he believed was an 8-year-old girl, who was actually a sting operation. Homeland Security agents arrested him at a hotel where he arrived with beer, condoms, and devices containing thousands of child pornography files.
   

5. Genesee County EDGE Conference focuses on protecting older adults (abc12.com) — Community leaders met in Grand Blanc Township for the fifth annual EDGE Conference, focusing on how to better protect older adults from abuse, scams, and exploitation. Hosted at the Genesys Conference and Banquet Center, the event brought together law enforcement, financial experts, and elder law professionals to share resources and strengthen collaboration, including promoting the sheriff’s 24-hour elder abuse hotline for Genesee County residents.
