Here are the top three stories today in Grand Rapids:
- Grand Rapids is searching for a construction management firm to work on the Grand River Restoration project. The firm will be working with WhiteWater to remove four dams while constructing in-channel features along Bridge Street. Applicants should be innovative and collaborative construction management firms. (WOODTV.com)
- The Grand Rapids Fire Department is turning to the community for help in finding new firefighters. The department began its hiring search on Apr. 1 with applications being accepted until the end of June. The eight-month hiring model has recently been reduced to a two-month model. (WOODTV.com)
- Frederik Meijer Gardens & Sculpture Park is rededicating its Volunteer Tribute Garden and sculpture during a rededication ceremony on Apr. 20. The garden, located at 1000 E Beltline Ave. NE, expanded the Volunteer Tribute Garden to include a boardwalk and outdoor classroom. The sculpture's artist, Oliviero Rainaldi, will be speaking before the ceremony. (GR|MAG)
