Grand Rapids Company Shine Helps Raise $45,000 for Children in Uganda

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich., — Shine, a values-led home services franchise specializing in window cleaning, pressure washing and outdoor lighting, recently joined golfers, sponsors and community supporters for the Arrows + Hope 11th Annual Golf Tournament, helping advance a mission that reaches from West Michigan to children in Uganda.

Held Sept. 15 at Diamond Springs Golf Course in Hamilton, the annual tournament raised $45,000 to support Arrows + Hope and its work serving orphaned and vulnerable children through educational scholarships, scholastic materials, health care, discipleship and compassionate support.

Shine and its local franchise owners have been longtime supporters of Arrows + Hope, making the tournament an extension of the company’s broader commitment to creating a brighter world.

“Seeing our Shine franchise family and West Michigan community come together for Arrows + Hope was a powerful reminder of what can happen when people unite around a shared purpose,” said Chris Fisher, Shine brand leader and co-founder of Arrows + Hope. “Their support helps bring hope, education and opportunity to children in Uganda and empowers them to build brighter futures.”

The connection between Shine and Arrows + Hope began with Fisher and his wife, Michelle, who lived with their family in Uganda for two years. The experience deepened their commitment to helping orphaned and vulnerable children access education, support and opportunities for sustainable futures. They later founded Arrows + Hope to continue that work.

Shine also supports the organization by dedicating a portion of each franchise sale to its mission and connecting individuals in the United States with child sponsorship opportunities.
