Veo Replaces Lime In Grand Rapids On September 1st (wearegrandrapids.com) — Grand Rapids is ending its Lime partnership and starting a three-year contract with Veo, making the city Michigan's first with Veo bikes and scooters. Residents can expect more seated options, a discounted Veo Access program, radar-equipped devices to curb sidewalk riding, and no price increases for at least three years as shared micromobility expands locally.
   

2. Gold Coast Doulas charity drive aims to collect 20,000 diapers for families in need this month (iheart.com) — Families and businesses in Greater Grand Rapids are being asked to donate diapers throughout September at numerous local drop-off spots, including Gold Coast Doulas' Robinson Road office and several city shops and clinics. The drive aims to collect 20,000 diapers for West Michigan families, which Huggies will match if the goal is met, potentially sending 40,000 diapers to Nestlings Diaper Bank.
   

3. Online dashboard tracks fall bird migration in Michigan (wlns.com) — Grand Rapids bird lovers are being urged to switch off outdoor lights at night as millions of migrating birds pass over Kent County this fall, a step local Audubon leaders say helps prevent disorientation. A free Cornell Lab dashboard lets you track nightly migration by county, and the Grand Rapids Audubon Club will host World Migratory Bird Day activities Oct. 10 at Millennium Park in Walker.
   

4. Win Tickets to Hot Wheels Monster Truck Live at VanAndel Arena (wzzm13.com) — Grand Rapids-area residents can enter now through Sept. 16 to win a family four-pack of tickets to Hot Wheels Monster Truck Live at Van Andel Arena. The free online sweepstakes is open to Michigan adults 18 and older, with five winners chosen around Sept. 17. Full rules, entry details, and the station's Grand Rapids mailing address are included.
   

5. Grand Rapids area union members celebrate Labor Day at Garfield Park (fox17online.com) — Union members from across the Grand Rapids area gathered at Garfield Park to celebrate Labor Day, share food, and reflect on the history of workers' rights. Local organizers and leaders from education, music, and stagehand unions emphasized solidarity, workplace protections, and the contributions of American workers to building the country.
