Just like our educational model, our teachers are unique. They come from all different backgrounds, each bringing something different, new and special to their online classroom. Following are five interesting facts on our multifaceted teaching staff.
· Math teacher, Angie Owen, taught English to students in Japan and passed her math teacher certification test without using a calculator!
· For two years, Assistant Principal Peggy Sepetys, lived in a small village in Africa with her husband and young sons. She was also the first person to defend a dissertation in the new doctoral program at the University of Michigan Dearborn.

· Kristen Wilkerson, math teacher, earned her Master’s in Education degree by age 27 from the University of Redlands. In 2001, Mrs. Wilkerson traveled to all 30 Major League Ballparks and saw a game at each one in only 60 days!
· Science teacher, Angela Safferman, and her family foster service dogs in training through For Better Independence. They have had five different poodles stay with them over the last four years. The most recent, Promise, went to work with Angela many times.

· Manager of counseling, Sarah Simons, enjoys traveling and seeing new places. Internationally, Ms. Simons has visited Aruba, Paris, France, safari in Tanzania and various locations in Mexico.
