Bank of America Seeks Community-Minded Teens for Student Leaders Program

Bank of America is seeking high school students who are role models in the community to take part in the 2015 Student Leaders program.

Bank of America is calling high school students who are leaders and activists in their community to apply for the 2015 Bank of America Student Leaders program before the Feb. 2 deadline.

In December of 2014, the national unemployment rate reached an alarming 16.8 percent among teens. With a clear need for positive role models in the community, Bank of America is seeking five young activists to take part in the Student Leaders program to combat these statistics and encourage change in the areas they live.

Every year, Bank of America recognizes high school juniors and seniors who step outside the classroom to serve their community and beyond. The Student Leaders program helps develop these teens to become positive role models and teaches them how to encourage their peers to achieve similar success.

Student Leaders are awarded an eight week, paid summer internship with local nonprofit Focus: HOPE and participate in a week-long student leadership summit held in Washington, D.C. In 2014, more than 220 student leaders from across the country attended the summit.

During their time at Focus: HOPE, the students will help aid their communities through hands-on experience with early childhood education, food and career training programs.

Through the internship and summit, these young leaders have the opportunity to network with like-minded individuals who share their passions while discovering their own talents for serving their community and leading others.

The application for the 2015 Student Leaders program is now open to high school students in Macomb, Oakland and Wayne Counties who are looking to make a positive difference in their own lives and impact their communities. Be sure to fill out the application before Feb. 2, 2015.
