Candidates for Wayne County Executive, 14th District Congress Meet

Two well-known members of the local media will moderate the upcoming Grosse Pointe Democratic Club Candidate Forums which will inform the club’s endorsement process. 

Craig Fahle of WDET will moderate the 14th Congressional District Candidate Forum Monday, June 16. Bankole Thompson of the Michigan Chronicle will moderate the Wayne County Executive Candidate Forum Tuesday, June 24.

Both events will run from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. in the auditorium of the Grosse Pointe War Memorial. Doors will open at 7 p.m. and the program will begin promptly at 7:15 p.m. These events are free and open to the public.

Grosse Pointe Democratic Club candidate forums engage voters from the Grosse Pointes and neighboring communities of Harper Woods and Detroit to meet and interact with candidates seeking the endorsement of the organization and who submit an endorsement request prior to the endorsement deadline of May 30. 

The club requires candidates participate in the forum if they wish to be considered for the endorsement. The endorsement committee will meet following the forum to weigh the candidates’ answers to the questions as well as other criteria in the endorsement process.

Questions will be predetermined by the Grosse Pointe Democratic Club’s Candidate Forum and Endorsement Committees in consultation with the moderators and will address subjects germane to the community. All candidates will answer the same questions within the assigned time constraints.
