“High school counselors tell us they are overworked and overburdened with large case loads, limited budgets and a shortage of helpful resources,” Wow President Kim Lifton said. “They don’t have enough time, assets or skills to help students with their college essays.”
Wow developed and has a patent pending on the first self-guided online program for college application essay writing. This virtual coach teaches students how to turn their life experiences into compelling stories that stand out from the crowded field of college applicants.

“Students are busy and stressed about getting into college, and most of them don’t even know how to think about the essay,” Lifton said. “We calm them, teach them how to reflect on their life experiences, and how to look at writing as a process. After that, the essays begin to emerge.”

Kim Lifton, 53, and CEO Susan Knoppow, 48, founded the company in 2009 to fill an unmet need in the college admissions industry.
