Grosse Pointe Chamber Seeking Nominations for 'Pointer of Distinction'

GROSSE POINTE - The Grosse Pointe Chamber of Commerce is currently accepting nominations for Pointer of Distinction Awards that will be presented at the Chamber Annual General Membership Dinner being held on January 29, 2013 at the Grosse Pointe War Memorial. Categories are Youth Achievement, Community Service, Excellence in Business and New Business Enterprise.

Youth Achievement: Nominee requirements are: student excels academically and be currently enrolled in a Grosse Pointe high school as well as in extra-curricular activities. The student must also be involved in one foundation or charitable activity and provide letters of recommendation.

Community Service: Nominee must be a Grosse Pointe resident who is involved and has made an impact in the community as well as exhibit leadership.

Excellence in Business: Nominees must live or work in Grosse Pointe, be accomplished in the area of business and must provide letters of recommendation.

New Business Enterprise: Nominee must live or work in Grosse Pointe, have launched a successful business within the last five years, have a solid business plan in place and be able to provide letters of recommendation.
