The Grosse Pointe Family Center Explores Loss, Grief and the Healing Process
Free family seminar.

The notion that there is a “proper” way to grieve is among the fallacies to be addressed at a seminar hosted by The Family Center of Grosse Pointe & Harper Woods entitled, Understanding Loss, Grief and the Healing Process for Families.
The Understanding Loss, Grief and the Healing Process for Families seminar is designed to arm participants with useful tools and resources to help foster resilience within their families and communities. Leading the sessions are three grief experts including Rev. Peter J.M. Henry, pastor, Grosse Pointe Memorial Church (The Emotional and Spiritual Components of Recovery); Mary Petersen, LMSW, ACSW, psychotherapist (Overcoming grief); and Mary Beth Garvey, LMSW, family therapist (The Grieving Process and Stages of Grief).
Offered as part of The Family Center’s ongoing ‘Ask The Experts’ series, the event is open to the public on Thursday, October 9 from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. at The Grosse Pointe Academy, located at 171 Lake Shore Road in Grosse Pointe Farms.
