Grosse Pointe Property Named to National Register of Historic Places

Ten Michigan properties join about 1,600 already on the registry.

The century-old Grosse Pointe Yacht Club is one of two metro Detroit properties added to the National Register of Historic Places.

Also added to the listing of places deemed worthy of preservation was an African-American church in Detroit, Amity Lodge No. 335 Temple-Spiritual Israel and Its Army Temple, The Detroit News reports.

Statewide, 10 new sites were added to the registry, the State HIstoric Preservation Office said. Michigan has more than 1,600 registry listings.
