• Employees get loan program (grossepointenews.com) — Grosse Pointe Park has added a new retirement-backed loan option to its employee compensation package, letting staff borrow from their vested retirement funds and pay the interest back into their own accounts. The council-approved program, administered through the Municipal Employees' Retirement System of Michigan, aims to boost financial flexibility and help the city attract and retain workers without adding costs for taxpayers.
   

• Swimmers show up strong at Wayne County meet (grossepointenews.com) — Grosse Pointe South and North girls swim and dive teams delivered standout performances at the Wayne County championships, with South taking second overall and setting multiple pool records. Local swimmers from both schools captured relay and individual titles, including dominant finishes in the 100 freestyle, backstroke, and medley events, underscoring Grosse Pointe's strength in regional high school swimming.
   

• Lucy Ann Miller Riley (grossepointenews.com) — Longtime Grosse Pointe and Grosse Pointe Park resident Lucy Ann Miller Riley, 83, is remembered for her deep faith, devotion to family, and active life in the arts and community. Raised and later raising her own family in Grosse Pointe, she built a varied career and celebrated 24 years of sobriety. A memorial and funeral Mass will be held Oct. 16 at St. Ambrose Parish in Grosse Pointe Park.
