The Princess Party: Celebrating the Bravery, Beauty, and Brilliance of Girls With & Without Disabilities!

The Princess Party is an event where girls with and without disabilities gather to foster community and celebrate their unique abilities!

Imagine a world of equality for all girls, no matter her abilities, socioeconomic status, race, or age. At The Princess Party 2015, girls with and without disabilities gather to foster community and celebrate their bravery, beauty, and brilliance. Last year at the inaugural event, over 150 girls attended this day filled with dancing, smiles, makeovers, pictures, food, and fun! Volunteers celebrated as they put makeup on the girls’ smiling faces, gave manicures , snapped pictures of the precious moments, and danced the afternoon away. The Renaissance Festival, Rock Out Entertainment, The Lunasol Band, King Leo Babcock, and Miss Michigan donated their talents to entertain the Princesses, while numerous others such as AMBUCS, The DMAN Foundation, and Health Partners supported the festivities through generous cash gifts. The event was more than a party; it was a celebration of the strength and abilities of girls everywhere!

The Princess Party was founded by Dr. Joseph M. Pellerito Jr., an occupational therapist from the Detroit area. He fostered a friendship between his clients with disabilities and his daughters by hosting a playdate that consisted of princess-like pampering for a day! With the help of the planning committee and community support, The Princess Party has grown to impact girls and women of all ages!

By popular demand, The Princess Party will return this year at the beautiful Grosse Pointe War Memorial on June 27, 2015 from 11 AM-4 PM. Girls will receive complementary makeovers and dance to music provided by Rock Out Entertainment. Special moments will be captured by professional photographers. The girls will experience fine dining provided by the War Memorial, among many other fun and inclusive activities. The event is FREE to all girls and their accompanying family members thanks to many generous donations and volunteers who see the value in The Princess Party.
