• Firefighters respond to smoke-filled home (oceanacountypress.com) — Hart Area and Shelby-Benona firefighters quickly responded to a Golden Township home Tuesday morning after a microwave fire filled the house with smoke. The careless cooking incident caused no structural damage, and both occupants safely evacuated without injuries. Pentwater’s department was initially dispatched but canceled once the minor nature of the call was clear.
   

• Hart's Porter's last second penalty kick defeats Montague in district semifinals (shorelinemedia.net) — Hart High’s girls soccer team edged Montague 5-4 at home thanks to Rilynn Porter’s dramatic penalty kick with just 14 seconds left in regulation. The Pirates rallied from multiple deficits, trading goals all night before finally clinching a spot in the district semifinals. Coaches from both sides called it an even, hard-fought match.
