For Howell families, the numbers highlight long-term demographic shifts and persistent statewide achievement gaps between racial and ethnic groups that continue to affect Michigan students.

• Pinckney bus driver honored for quick thinking during dangerous storm (bnd.com) — Severe storms on Sept. 3 knocked out power across Livingston County, closing Howell Public Schools and disrupting nearby districts.
