Obituary: Melanie Beneson, 40, of Hartland, 'Greatest Mom'

A Hartland woman who died in a is remembered by her family as funny and honest, according to an article in the Tri-County Times.

"She was just happy all the time and would do anything for anyone," said Grant Skinner, her 22-year-old stepson. "She was loud, always the center of attention."

A service was scheduled 10 a.m. Friday at B'nai Israel Memorial Gardens in Novi for Hartland resident Melanie Beneson, who died in a traffic crash Tuesday, according to The Dorfman Chapel.

The family, according to the obituary, is setting at the residence of Ilene and Steve Bez, 28944 E. King William, in Farmington Hills, during the traditional mourning period (shiva). Phone: 248-324-5576. Religious services also will be held on 7 p.m. Sunday evening.

In addition to Grant Skinner, Beneson is survived by her husband Don Skinner; children Logan, Heather Skinner; mother Esther (the late Dennis) Beneson; brother Beth (Mike) Hoffner; nephew Shae Hoffner, the obituary said.

"My mom was the greatest mom," her son Logan, 12, told the Tri-County Times. "She took care of me and really loved me. She drove me to school and always cared. I hope she is up there looking down at me. I love her more than anything."
