U.S. 23 Road Work to Close Lane, Entrance Ramp Saturday in the Brighton Area

On Saturday, January 7, there will be a single lane closure in each direction on US-23 near Silver Lake Road. The closure will be in effect between 7 a.m. and 3 p.m. and is needed so crews can remove the barrier wall and the split merge traffic configuration.

The entrance ramp from Silver Lake Road to northbound US-23 will remain closed.

Next spring, the split merge traffic configuration will again be used near Silver Lake Road as crews continue work on the Huron River bridge. The traffic shift allows two lanes of traffic to be maintained in each direction on US-23 during construction.

In addition, on Monday, January 9, crews will begin installing median cable guardrail along US-23 from approximately M-36 to the Livingston/Genesee county line. During construction, there will be median shoulder closures along US-23.
