Local residents benefit from the college’s role as a hub for national-level historical discussion, even when sessions focus on academic perspectives rather than public programming.
   

4. Pentagon taps Hillsdale College to train ‘patriotic leaders' after split with ‘woke' Ivies (mlive.com) — Hillsdale residents will see their hometown college become one of five new Distinguished Military Colleges, giving Hillsdale College a prominent role in training future military officers. The Pentagon move, framed as a shift away from “woke” Ivy League programs, brings new cadet standards and leadership training to campus while the college maintains its stance against accepting taxpayer funds.
