• Crews fight fire at waste management facility in Ironwood (northernnewsnow.com) — A fire at Gogebic Range Solid Waste Management in Ironwood sent smoke and flames from the garbage disposal garage Tuesday morning, forcing a temporary reroute of U.S. Highway 2 traffic. Crews needed several hours to control the blaze, which authorities currently believe was accidental, and traffic has since returned to normal. 
• Friends of the Porcupine Mountains Unveils New "Artist Ambassador" Program to Bridge Art and Wilderness (eupnews.com) — An Ironwood-based photographer, Jake Ring, has been chosen as one of two inaugural Artist Ambassadors helping visitors experience Porcupine Mountains Wilderness State Park through art. Working alongside Wisconsin artist Caroline Meehean, he’ll lead creative workshops and tours that connect regional residents with the Porkies’ landscapes and existing arts programs.
