2. 35-year-old man arrested in fatal Jackson County hit-and-run (fox47news.com) — A 35-year-old Charlotte man has been arrested in connection with a Sept. 15 hit-and-run that killed 58-year-old Eric Estey of Jackson in Blackman Township. Investigators used surveillance and license-plate cameras to identify the suspect vehicle, and the driver is now jailed in Jackson County on a failure-to-stop charge, with a probable cause hearing set for Oct. 9.
3. Michigan Deer Archery Season Begins Thursday, Oct. 1: What Hunters Need to Know (wowo.com) — Hunters in and around Jackson can head into the woods today as Michigan's archery deer season opens and runs through Nov. 14.
