While Negaunee dominated the meet and set multiple records, Kingsford athletes like junior Mylee Kreider and distance runner Maria Murvich turned in strong performances that local fans will recognize and appreciate.

• Collision with SUV kills Niagara motorcyclist (dailypress.net) — Emergency crews, including Kingsford Public Safety, responded after a 21-year-old Niagara motorcyclist was killed when his bike collided with an SUV’s trailer on U.S. 2 in nearby Breitung Township. Authorities say the SUV turned in front of the westbound motorcycle, and the investigation into the deadly crash is still ongoing.
