1. LOCS hires four teachers (lakeorionreview.com subscription) — Lake Orion Community Schools has hired four new teachers for Lake Orion High School, Paint Creek Elementary, and Stadium Drive Elementary, bringing local alumni and experienced educators into district classrooms. The board also welcomed a new executive assistant to the superintendent, adding seasoned administrative support ahead of the coming school year.

2. Brick pavers to be installed downtown (lakeorionreview.com) — Downtown Lake Orion will soon get new brick pavers along the right-of-way at 195–197 S. Broadway, after the Village Council approved a license agreement with property owner CGKW LLC. The deal spells out maintenance, insurance, and restoration responsibilities, and allows the village to revoke the license if insurance lapses or the restaurant use ends.

3. Primary Election Results – Aug. 4, 2026 (lakeorionreview.com) — Orion Township voters narrowly rejected new fire/EMS and police operating millages, decisions that will shape how services are funded going forward while excluding Village of Lake Orion residents, who have separate police funding. Voters also turned down an Oakland ISD enhancement millage that would have benefited Lake Orion schools, and chose local candidates for state senate and the 54th House district.

4. Around The OAA (orionontv.org) — Lake Orion football opens its 2026 season on the road at Northville in a matchup of familiar foes who split close games the past two years. The Dragons bring more offensive experience, but their defense will be tested by Northville’s run game and secondary, offering fans an early glimpse at Lake Orion’s postseason potential.
