📰 News we're reading

• Ruptured Oakland County Water Main Fixed, But Advisories Remain In Place (patch.com) — Lake Orion residents remain under a boil-water advisory even though the ruptured 42-inch water main in Auburn Hills has been repaired, and normal pressure may not fully return until early next week. You’re asked to limit water use to essentials, and free water is available at Atwater Park in the Village of Lake Orion and other nearby sites while testing continues.

• Oakland County water main break forces restaurants to adapt amid boil-water advisory (clickondetroit.com) — Downtown Lake Orion has been unusually quiet as restaurants like Johnny Black’s Lakehouse scramble to reopen under strict boil-water rules, relying on bottled water and disposable plates. Local officials urge residents to conserve water, schools remain closed through Thursday, and some businesses are still restricted while testing continues on the repaired main.

• Community invited to contribute to time capsule project in Oakland Township (candgnews.com) — Lake Orion residents are invited to share photos, letters, and stories for a new community time capsule being created by the Oakland Township Historical Society and buried at Cranberry Lake Farm this July. Submissions from Lake Orion, Rochester, Romeo, and Oakland Township are welcome through June 1, aiming to give people in 2051 a vivid snapshot of today’s local life.
