Ready to clear out the clutter and protect your identity?
LAFCU invites the community to its free annual Shred Day Saturday, April 25, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at its West Lansing Branch, 106 N. Marketplace Blvd., Lansing. A mobile shredding truck will be on-site to safely destroy sensitive documents on the spot.
Drop off up to four banker’s boxes filled with old tax returns, receipts, bills, insurance statements, address labels and other paperwork containing personal or financial information.

Lansing, MI - April 20, 2026 - <a href="https://www.dartcontainer.com/" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">Dart Container</a>, a leading provider of sustainable foodservice packaging solutions, is proud to support Recycle Rama, greater Lansing’s largest one-day recycling event, on Saturday, April 25 at the ​​Ingham County Health Department.
The City of Lansing is hosting this recycling event as a free community service to benefit the Lansing community. The event is brought to you by the City of Lansing, the Lansing Board of Water &amp; Light, Ingham County and many community sponsors. It is part of a series of recycling events across Michigan this spring and summer to provide a convenient way for residents to dispose of electronics, appliances, batteries, medications and more. 
What: Free Lansing event where attendees can recycle a wide range of hard-to-recycle items. 
Accepted items include: 
●Polystyrene (Styrofoam) CFLs, LEDs and fluorescent tubes 
●Medications, thermometers, thermostats, hearing aids and eyeglasses 
●Electronics Books and bicycles 
●Plastic and glass bottles and jars, cardboard and paper 
●Batteries, scrap metal and appliances 
●Room air conditioners and dehumidifiers (BWL Electric Customers receive a $25 rebate for working units) 
●TVs and computer monitors ($20 per item; cash or check payable to Michigan Recycling Coalition) 
Items not accepted include: 
●Hazardous materials 
●Household items Fabrics and yarn 
●Refrigerators and freezers 
●CDs and DVDs Packing peanuts 
●Windows and mirrors
Donations are appreciated but not expected. 
When: Saturday, April 25, 2026, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Teachers, administrators, PTOs, and school clubs are invited to submit an online application along with a three- to five-minute video explaining how the funds would be used and the expected impact.
