Give your high school student a practical, hands-on introduction to managing money and making everyday financial decisions at LAFCU’s free Financial Reality Fair Wed., July 22.
Presented in partnership with CASA for Kids, Inc., Big Brothers Big Sisters Michigan Capital Region and Child and Family Charities, this interactive experience helps students explore what it may take to live independently. Participants will select a potential career, receive a projected income and make monthly budgeting decisions involving essentials such as housing, transportation, food and more.
The event is open to high school students entering grades 10, 11 and 12. It is designed to build financial confidence while helping teens better understand the choices, tradeoffs and planning involved in adulthood.
The event will be held from noon to 3 p.m. at Child and Family Charities, 407 W. Greenlawn Ave. in Lansing. Lunch and time to connect with other students will take place from noon to 1 p.m., followed by the Financial Reality Fair from 1 to 3 p.m. Lunch and snacks are included.
Attendance is free, but registration is required. Visit the RSVP form to register and learn more.
